Ji-Wang Chern Ph.D. Chairman and CEO
Dr. Chern has more than 45 years of extensive experience in drug discovery research and teaching. He has the combination of technical and management expertise. He is involved in the design and synthesis a variety of heterocycles as new anticancer, antiviral, and anti-neurodegenerative agents. His works lead to authors or co-authors with 160 scientific papers. He is also the holder of 14 patents and is active in transferring technology developed from his laboratories, and subsequently established AnnJi Pharmaceutical company in 2011. In addition to his research, he is also dedicated to the international society. He was the co-founder and President of Asian Association of School of Pharmacy (AASP). He is the editorial advisory board members for several journals, board of directors for several foundations and study section or member for government organization, e.g. Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Economic Affairs. He received numerous awards, including Ten Outstanding Young Persons (1991), “Outstanding Scholar Award” from the Foundation for the Advancement of Scholarship (2001-2006), Distinguished Research Scientist Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology (2014). He was elected as Fellow by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in 2001.
Penny Hung Ph.D. VP for Research and Development
Dr. Hung received her Ph.D. in Medical Technology from the National Taiwan University. Dr. Hung is well experienced in the preclinical toxicology studies, translational medicine and disease model setup for more than 10 years. Prior to joining Gilva, Dr. Hung worked at AnnJi Pharmaceuticals, where he served as the pharmacology and toxicology lead for the development of several new drug products, including those for neuropathy, fibrosis, and skin diseases. She also has published several research papers.
Teresa Yeh Deputy Director for Management and Operations
Graduated from the MBA at Chang Gung University, She has more than 25 years of experience as a group financial accounting supervisor. She has worked in both public and private companies across traditional industries, technology, and retail, responsible for Finance, Accounting, and Stock affirs, and other related major. Additionally, she is very familiar with international finance and international trade.
